LOS ANGELES, CA - Dec. 1, 2009 - After 5 months
of touring throughout the United States, their successful performances
in Puerto Rico and their debut in the Mexican Republic,
Monte Negro, will end their tour
"Pasajeros", on Thursday
Dec. 10th at the Roxy in Los Angeles , totaling 44 concerts in
support and promotion of their EP "Fugitives of Pleasure AND
Pasajeros" which was launched last July.
There have been many memorable moments in the most extensive tour Monte Negro has done so far, but perhaps the group's debut in Guadalajara Jalisco, the birthplace of Kinski (Voice) and Rodax (Bass) before more than 15,000 people, sharing the stage with Zoe, Babasónicos and Aterciopelados, amongst others, that had a very special meaning to all 4 members. In San Luis Potosí, where Monte Negro was the opening group for Café Tacuba, the surprise was that despite torrential rain, which did not stop throughout the night, the audience of over 4000 people bade farewell with a strong ovation to the group, welcoming them to their city. In Mexico City, in a sold out concert, Monte Negro lived another special moment as guest performers for Enanitos Verdes at the legendary Teatro Metropolitan, in front of over 3000 people who for the first time, heard the Los Angeles based bilingual group's proposal, and they applauded, welcoming them to the Aztec territory. Amongst encounters and experiences, Monte Negro has been opening doors that have expanded their audience beyond the border, making the group one of the most promising of the new rock scene in Los Angeles. At the end of their tour and after a brief rest, Monte Negro plans to finalize the details of the launch of their already recorded new album, which will be presented in the spring of 2010. |
