LOS ANGELES, CA - June
23 -
Monte Negro, the most promising band of
bicultural and bilingual rock, will take full control and
accountability for their impressive career climb by releasing
the new "
Fugitives Of Pleasure / Pasajeros" EP
under their very own label,
Feed The Hungry Records. The
band is set to perform its highly anticipated new material at
the
House of Blues release party on July 23rd in their
hometown of Los Angeles.
After the exceptional success of their 2008 debut album
"Cicatrix, " which was supported by a lengthy national tour
and generated critical acclaim equally in both Latin and
Anglo press, the band is preparing to embark on their most
extensive tour to date, beginning in San Jose on July 10th.
They will once again command attention with their spirited
and transcendent live shows across the nation, including
Puerto Rico. For the entire month of October, Converse will
be sponsoring their debut appearances in Mexico, presenting
Monte Negro in a series of concerts and festivals that will
span across the territory.
The veritable magic of Monte Negro is their multicultural
sound and unique versatility, making them accessible
anywhere in this increasingly interconnected world
community. Their music can be both delicate and monstrous
all at once, and their ability to communicate through rich
soaring melodies and international pop sensibilities is
enhanced by vocalist Kinski Gallo's poetical fluency in both
English and Spanish.
Once again working alongside famed producer Tone (Green
Day, Carlos Santana), the "Fugitives Of Pleasure /
Pasajeros" EP challenges the band's own idea of artistic
integrity by deeply examining their stylistic range of
material and incorporating political themes, odd
arrangements and textures, and an overall sense of urgency
into the mix.
It features a unique presentation that will inevitably
appeal to music collectors: 1) an Original Version that will
contain 5 magnificent new songs, and 2) a Limited Edition
that is complimented with deluxe artwork and packaging,
autographs, 6 additional eclectic instrumental tracks, and
an unexpected surprise: "La Negra Tomasa" is a stunning
hip-hop reinvention of the Caifanes classic. It is a
distinctive example of Monte Negro's haunting aesthetic and
their embracement of the cultural mix that all of their
forward-thinking fans can appreciate.
These Limited Edition copies will be engaged in an
exclusive presale from July 9th to July 24th on Monte
Negro's official website:
www.MonteNegroRocks.com. "This is a gift of
appreciation that we wanted to bestow upon our special
following, whose constant contact and enthusiasm keeps us
creating. They will be the first and most important
listeners who evaluate and critique our new offerings," says
Kinski. On July 28th, both editions will be available as
digital downloads online and in physical formats in stores.
"Loco Por Tu Amor (Tarde o Temprano Se Paga)", is an
oneiric opus of extinguished love, madness, and despair, but
with an alarmingly majestic chorus. It will be accompanied
by a music video to be in exclusive release on the
influential MTV3.
The official and much anticipated presentation of Monte
Negro's "Fugitives of Pleasure / Pasajeros" EP will be on
Thursday, July 23rd, at the House of Blues in their hometown
of Los Angeles, presented by Al Borde. A single experience
of their truly astounding live set will prove that they are
the most relevant and compelling rock act of the year.
